Ride Materials.
If you have suitable tires and prefer a gravel alternative to FT Valley Road, here is the full file with the gravel detour. GRAVEL HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED.
A Lynn Kristianson classic first ridden by DC Randonneurs in 2007. Highlights include the scenic towns of Flint Hill and Little Washington, a spectacular ride along the Blue Ridge to Syria, and a mellower return through mixed woods and farmland to Warrenton.
Weather note: Gust forecasts have decreased and we are a go for April 6th! See you in Warrenton!
Rider email:
Hi, Riders!
Ride materials for Saturday's 300k can be found in this folder. Included is the brevet card and 2 cue sheets (one size 10 for those who prefer fewer page turns, and one size 12 for those who prefer larger font).
Some DC Randonneurs may remember that there is a gravel detour for riders who prefer to avoid FT Valley Road (which has more traffic and riders should ride single file). That detour can be found here (and is also linked on the page under the ride description). The pre-riders did not check out the gravel detour, so be aware.
Proof of Passage: Riders may either fill out a brevet card, take photos at controls, or send Emily (emranson@gmail.com) EPP at the end of the ride. All proof of passage should be submitted by Monday at 5 PM. We accept ridewithgps, garmin connect, or strava. Strava is least preferred, and if you use it be sure the start time is displayed.
Happy Riding!
Emily
Thanks Emily! Paul, Roger, and I all finished in 14:41 on the pre-rides.
